Ever since his dad saved him from being eaten by a 300 lb. catfish when he was three, Cash McGuiness has been obsessed with what lurks beneath the surface. His life's mission is to hunt down the mysterious creatures that lie behind the rumors and myths. This journey has taken him across the globe and bravely documented in the hit series, 'The Devils of the Deep."

This episode brings us back to forty years ago when a small boy was swimming in a bayou on Florida's panhandle. What started as a fun summer day turned to a horrific nightmare as he was snatched from below and dragged down to the depths in a bloody whirlpool.

The boy lived to tell his tale, but the only clue was a blinding flash of red. That's one more clue than Cash ever needs, so he headed to the unforgiving swamplands of North Florida to start the hunt. He was immediately met by secretive locals spouting bogus information. That's when he knew he was on to something big, something even Cash McGuiness wasn't prepared for.

After a week of being taunted and tested by this cunning demon, a deadly tropical storm moves in and brings Cash to the brink of insanity. Would predator become prey?
Or will the tenacity of one brave man be enough to finally solve the mystery behind rumors of the stories of The Red Assassin?
