An inflatable that performs well and looks even better
"When I inflated my Lono Aero for the first time I was quite impressed. A 12'6" watercraft that looks great, is compatible with a pedal drive and I can fold up to fit in the back of my car! On the water the Lono Aero feels very stable even with its rather high seating position. The cockpit stays pretty dry even with some light chop and wind thanks to how high it sits on the water combined with the high sides. Paddling performance seems decent for an inflatable, but the pedal drive makes the Lono Aero a real performer. Actually fishing from the Lono Aero is pretty comparable to any other fishing kayak I've been in. The lack of any sort of built in rod holders and/or much in the way of accessories mounting is a little disappointing for something marketed as fishing kayak. I've fished out of my share of plain recreational kayaks without any of the fishing kayak features so it's not a big deal for me but without the sold separately rack for holding rods it's not much more than a recreational kayak. My biggest issue is the time it takes to deflate, clean, dry, and pack up the Lono Aero. This is simply a compromise for the convenience of an inflatable watercraft, and just means I'm not likely to go out if I won't have enough time on the water to make the cleanup after worth while. Overall, I'm happy with my Lono Aero. If you want a great fishing kayak and you have the space and transportation for one you'd probably be happier with a hard shell for a similar price, but if you want a good platform for recreation and fishing that at the end of the day can fold up and go in the back of a small SUV the Lono Aero is definitely worth a look."

"So my wife and our Friends all ordered the Lono Aero, 4 total. They all were shipped promptly and arrived within a week. We couldn't wait to get started and got them all pumped up and ready to go. They are a beautiful kayak, we like very much how they pack away in the Bote bag for travel. We plan to use alot traveling this summer. The construction seems very top quality and all the accessories available are great as well. It took us a bit to get our seats adjusted to fit our individual needs, haven't been out a 2nd time to try again, however from what we can tell we are all gonna have alot. of fun playing around in rivers and lakes this summer. We don't fish and will just be using for fun and recreation, however I can absolutely see that the Bote lone would nake a great fishing kayak especially in hard to get to waters."

"My son and I have had a fair number of inflatables and hard shells that we use for fly fishing over the years. We now have a pair of the Lono Aero pedal kayaks. We have wanted an inflatable pedal craft that was well made and engineered correctly. Now we have them. At the current price the Bote boat with the pedal/rudder system is a no-brainer. Tracks well, gear ratio seems just right and the steering is quite decent. Being a tinkerer all my life I am afraid that there is not a great deal of improvement to be made. The stiffness of the boat is amazing. We just sold off our hard shell pedals kayaks and I can honestly say I notice NO FLEX in this craft, and that includes pedaling at a decent clip. This is as nice as the hard shell boats….but these fit in the mini van with no issues. We were unaware of the reason for the short skeg that was supplied so we went with the deep one that came with the Boat (Bote?). And the steering was quite bad. I beached my kayak and removed the skeg entirely in the hope it would respond better. The steering is now more responsive than any boat I have used. Very pleased with the product. I think most folks would feel the same way."

"I set this up in my living room upon arrival to know what to expect, before taking it out to the lake. So far I'm super impressed with the quality construction and sleek look! I recommend getting a dolly or cart to transport, as the wheels on the storage bag are very small and the bag easily gets scraped unless you're on a very smooth surface. Also, it turns out to be quite heavy and akward to move since the bag is oversized in height, one of the buckles arrived broken which makes it hard to make the bag less floppy. Although the rudder, pedal drive, and, fishing rack are separate accessories, it would be nice to have a separate storage bag since neither of these items would fit (or be a good idea) to store in the same bag with the kayak. Other than that part, I absolutely love this kayak!"

"I love my bote! I had an issue with the first one I recieved. I talked to customer support and they took care of it right away! This one I was able to fill up properly and have taken it on the water twice now. Each time the fill up process has been quick and easy with the air pump I have. The way it handles on the water is so smooth. I haven’t used the apex system yet, but I put it all together and that was simple as well! Overall this product and the service provided after purchase makes the higher price point worth it."
