Spring Break Essentials

Here at #BOTENATION, we’re always looking for that next opportunity to get out on the water. And frankly, we can’t think of a better reason than spring warmup. When the sun’s out, there’s nothing better than a sandbar raft-up or day of relaxing on the water. As we’re counting down the days to summer, we’re getting everything ready for those #lakelife and #saltlife days.

What’s in our go-bag? Check these out and let us know what is your must-haves for those days on the water:

1. THE BOTE DOCK

Once you make your first jump off of a BOTE dock, you’ll wonder what you ever did without it. The 10x10 BOTE Dock is sized perfectly for all of your gear or making sure everyone has their own personal space. It can handle anything you need to keep out of the water including chairs or coolers. And it’s made to get wet so have at it!

If you prefer a little less space, opt for the 7x7 BOTE Dock which is perfect for relaxing with a smaller group in the sun and is perfect for smaller boats with limited space. Like a lot of BOTE Nation, right now if you are looking to #STANDAPART with some personal space, the BOTE Dock FX is perfect. It’s just perfect for relaxing or some water yoga and fitness. Pro-tip: attach a rod holder mount to your BOTE Dock to add an umbrella if you need a little shade.

2. A COOLER

A day on the water is not complete without your favorite drinks and snacks. They have to definitely make it through the day in the hot sun. Everyone knows the right cooler is the crucial item of every party, but not all are created equal. The BOTE KULA 2.5 gallon is the best because of its built-in tap. Add to that the KULA 5 Softy for water, snacks, or anything else you need.

3. A GOOD DRY BAG (Waterproof Bag)

Store your phone, your keys, some cash and anything else you need in a waterproof BOTE Highwater Pack. For your phone, it’s worst enemy is the water. Even if you have a waterproof case, a dry bag offers added protection for a long day on the water.

Other things to keep dry would be towels and a change of clothes. The BOTE Slingpack is a great personal bag or you can accommodate your whole crew with either the Backpack or Duffel sizes.

4. CHAIRS

Once on the water, it usually means hopping on a boat where seating is limited and space is at a premium. BOTE Aero Chairs are the perfect solution. They’re easy to transport and inflate and deflate super quickly. When deflated, they’re small enough to roll up and stash in a beach bag. When it’s go-time, inflate them in minutes using a hand or foot pump and set them up on a BOTE Dock, the beach, or the deck of your boat. Think adirondack chair for on-the-go.

5. SAFETY GEAR

As always, safety first. Use plenty of sun screen, wear the right gear, pack the right hydration drinks. #BOTENATION enjoys days on the water the best way possible, safely, so we can keep it going. A basic first aid kit is also a good idea for those “just-in-case” accidents. If you are bringing a stand up paddle board or kayak, or boating, make sure you have the required Personal Floatation Device.

6. FUN ADD-ONS

Music is a great addition for those days on the water. Be sure to get a high-quality waterproof speaker and have your playlist downloaded if you don’t have cell service. If you want to go explore the water when you get there, an inflatable paddle board or kayak is the easiest way to get around. A paddle board is also convenient if you want to go to a quieter spot to fish. Also, a football or beach ball to throw around, or a snorkel to explore, is perfect as well. The possibilities are endless depending on what you enjoy.

7. OFTEN OVERLOOKED ESSENTIALS

Be kind to our environment! Bring a bag for any refuse or trash. Make sure we do our part to keep the outdoors clean and bright! We also like to be prepared with some motion sickness medication, UV lip balm, cups, and Koozies. And of course don’t forget your sunglasses!

A raft-up or day on the water is always a good time, with friends or by yourself. Just make sure you’re prepared, make the most of it, and be safe out in #BOTENATION!
